The Agriturismo is located just outside Mestre close to the Carpenedo Wood and Fort, only 10 km from Venice and the Lagoon, which are easily reached by public transport. La Cascina is a small Agriturismo just a stone’s throw from the centre of Carpenedo on a family-owned plot that has undergone various transformations over the years. In 1995, at just 25, Diego Scaramuzza decided to restore the stable and barn of the old building. Using his talent for cooking and skills honed during his studies, he prepares original dishes that highlight the Venetian territory at times accompanied by forays into the more exotic cuisines. The menu includes seasonal soups, dishes such as faraona in peverada (guinea fowl in a sauce of chicken liver, anchovies and garlic), radicchio in saor (radicchio in an onion, pine nut and vinegar sauce), risottos and cicchetti, soft desserts and Venetian biscuits. Vegetables and cereals are the main crops on the farm and guinea fowl, ducks and geese are raised here. La Cascina is a welcoming environment suitable for couples, families and groups. Small pets are also welcome. The Agriturismo is easily found, not far from the main Mestre ring road.
