The Il Selgaro Agriturismo in Zelarino first opened in 1958 at a time when sharecroppers cultivated these lands once the property of the Fustenbergh Agnelli family. In the early seventies the farm was used for breeding the Italian heavy draft horse (Tpr) and clay was extracted that was used to produce the exposed tiles typically found in rural farmhouses in the surrounding area. Over time rabbits and chickens were raised on the farm and until 1988 there was a small one hectare vineyard of Malbec delle Venezie IGT alongside cattle and pigs bred for family use. Situated in a central area between the provinces of Treviso, Padua and Venice, the Agriturismo offers a familiar yet exclusive environment with traditional cuisine made from the farm’s agricultural and breeding produce. Lunch, dinner and snacks are available, taken alfresco in fine weather, surrounded by the buffalo, sheep, goats, pigs and courtyard animals that live semi-wild on the estate. Accommodation is available in spacious rooms, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a small kitchen.
